Hello — I maintain an open-source archive project on Evald Ilyenkov and would like to introduce it here, since this community is one of the few places where his work is still read closely.
What it is. A public Git repository organizing (1) a Russian-language corpus of Ilyenkov’s texts in markdown, converted from verified HTML sources with full provenance metadata; (2) collation notes on the existing Chinese translations — editions, omissions, mistranslations; (3) a terminology table for the core vocabulary (идеальное, деятельность, мышление, всеобщее) across Russian, Chinese, and English renderings; (4) related corpora (Spinoza, Kedrov, Maidansky’s research) that the Ilyenkov material constantly points into.
How it works. Two principles distinguish it from a casual text dump. First, source traceability: every file carries metadata about where it came from, how it was converted, and whether a human has verified it; unreviewed OCR and bulk machine translation are not accepted. Second, rights auditing: the public repository contains only material that passed an explicit redistribution gate, and the export decision for every file is recorded in a public audit log. Translation drafts that cannot be published stay in a private working repository.
Who we’re looking for. The working language is mostly Chinese (the project’s first goal is a reliable Chinese point of entry into Ilyenkov), but the terminology and collation work is multilingual by nature. Russian/Chinese bilinguals are the scarcest resource; readers who know the English translations well, or who come to Ilyenkov through Vygotsky, Davydov and activity theory, would be just as valuable — the “concept of the ideal” discussion in particular needs people who can say how the English-language reception handled it.
